BE STRONG AND COURAGEOUS: PRAY AND TRUST IN GOD

By Shepherd Ncube

We are faced by many challenges and persecuted from all angles, the devil is at work, he is killing, destroying and stealing but we ought to be strong and courageous.

Psalms Chapter 31 verse 25 states “So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord”.
Many times we consciously and unconsciously think that God has abandoned us.  When we feel disgraced, sick, attacked, unloved, unanswered and buffeted from every side to the extent that we think that God has abandoned us.

A reading of the whole Psalms Chapter 31 demonstrates that God is able to come into your situation.  David, a man after Gods own heart may have felt like you many, many years ago.
The conclusion of the Psalm - to be strong and courageous - re-affirms Gods promise for the people,  that he will protect and provide for his people.
Today you have a need – health, family, financial or whatever and God is calling upon you to have hope and trust in Him, and he will come to your rescue
For the honour of his name God will lead you out of danger. In God you have protection against your enemies who have set traps for you.

Idol worshipers will not triumph over you. Take a stand, and side with God.  Your cry, anguish and tears have moved God today. Continue crying for mercy for a breakthrough, and God will answer you speedily.
You may be a subject of scorn among friends, neighbours and enemies but hold on to your faith, your future is in God’s hands, and not the hands of the enemy.

Don’t worry about the proud, arrogant conspiring against your destiny and breakthroughs.  God is talking to you today, become a prayer addict. Seek God with all your being. Love God in-spite of your situation and Psalms Chapter 31 verse 23 says “ Love the Lord, all you godly ones, for the Lord protects those who are loyal to him”.
In Joshua Chapter 1 verse 6 when God speaks to Joshua he says “Be strong and courageous, for you are the one who will lead all these people to possessing all the land” [Emphasis is mine]. Verse 7 states; “Be strong and courageous then you will be successful in everything you do”. Verse 9 goes on to say “This is my command – be strong and courageous!  Do not be afraid or discouraged.  For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

We need to remain entrenched in the word of God.

When God commanded Joshua to be strong and courageous in Joshua Chapter 1 verse 16 – 18 the people affirm their loyalty to him and urge him collectively to “be strong and courageous”.

God bless you.

Continue in prayer, Amen.
