By Leslie Phiri

Two Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe (AFM) pastors died on the spot while three other pastors sustained serious injuries after the car they were travelling in burst its tyre before overturning three times near Esigodini yesterday night.

Pastor Tashaya and Pastor Shayawako lost their lives while Pastor Moyo and Pastor Chitsa are said to be in the Intensive Care Unit at United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) in Bulawayo. Three other Pastors - Pastor Chigeda dislocated his leg while Pastor kandore and Pastor Ndlovu, are said to have suffered minor injuries.

According to Pastor  kandore (pictured above) who survived the accident: "We were coming from an outing in Esigodini when the car burst its tyre, before swaving three times and overturning as many times.

"After the car overturned, I don't know how we were thrown out of the car, all I know is that I saw  Pastor Shayawako's body  buried under the car. We then asked for assistance from passerbys to move the car.

At that time Pastor Tashaya was seriously injured, failing to breathe properly and  we lost him moments later," he said.

Pastor Moyo is said to be in a critical condition after his head rammed on a as a result of  being thrown out of the car.

Other pastors are said to be recuperating at home.
Pastor Tashaya was the AFM Bulawayo South Province Deputy Overseer and pastoring the AFM Morningside Assembly  while Rev Shayawako was the secretary of the  board while pastoring the Emganwini assembly.

Social networking site facebook was abuzz with people passing their condolence messages to the bereaved families and saluting the great work that these men were doing.

Pastor Tashaya is survived by his wife and two children while Pastor Shayawako is also survived by his wife and four children.

Mourners are gathered at the deceased's homes in Bulawayo.
