GOD WANTS YOU TO BE A SUCCESS STORY - PART 1

Br David Msebele

One author once remarked “God is not an author of failure”.  Some people have come to worship, glorify and accept failure as their lot. They accept failure as their destiny – a kind of God plan for them.  Failure is taken as humility. Poverty which is symptomatic of failure is accepted as humility.  After all we cannot all succeed, some people have to succeed while others must fail, so goes the argument.

The justification for failure is given biblical sense when it is argued that Jesus said “the poor we shall always have”.Having searched the scriptures I am puzzled at the acceptance of poverty, failure, sickness and all symptoms and manifestations of failure. To start with God loved man and that is why He created him. God in His infinite wisdom and love created man “in His image, and likeness”. He gave him power and dominion over the whole earth.  God, admired the man he had created and concluded that his creation was good.
When one has dominion over a thing or someone – he exercises great power and control over that thing or person.  Failure is not synonymous with dominion.  When you fail you have no dominion over your situation or circumstance.
When you succeed in whatever you do you are literally and practically fulfilling scripture.  You are exercising dominion over your life. When you exercise dominion you embrace the nature of God
The giving of dominion to man after creation was not a promise of a future event.  It is factual.
Even when man had  sinned and fallen out of favour with God, God continued blessing man. God says in Genesis 9v1-3 “And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth.  And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea, into your hands are they delivered.  Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you, even as the green herb  have I given you all things”.
You can read your own bible or your friends, the message is clear : power and dominion which enables us to succeed has been given to us.
Faithfulness, achievement or success is the language of the children of God.  The devil should not be allowed to bar you into a corner and convince you that you are a failure.  You are not!  You are a success story and dare today to go down on your knees and ask God to turn around your personal, family or financial situation. Ask God to make you a spiritual giant. Search your scriptures and remind God of his promises to Abraham - your spiritual father.
Ephesians 2:10 states that “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them”.  So how can Gods workmanship exhibit failure”.
We are created to reign in life by Christ Jesus, and the word of God in Revelations Chapter 5 verse 10 says “And you have caused them (Gods people – you and me) to become a Kingdom of priests for our God.  And they will reign on the earth”.  (Further additions in brackets are mine).  So you were created for greatness and not failure.
In 1 Peter Chapter 2 verse 9 the bible says “But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people, you are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession.  As a result you can show others the goodness of God, for He called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light”.
I do not see a wonderful light in failure.  I do not see being a “chosen people” in failure.  Must I add, I do not see royalty or holiness in failure.
God's promises are to prosper us, to protect us, to feed us, to change us so that we can conform to the image of Jesus Christ.
We do not reflect Jesus Christ in failure or his father, or God in failure.  Failure is the work of the devil and has no place in the Kingdom of God.
Rahab was a prostitute but she is a heroine of faith when she came out of her situation and stood with the children of God.  David took someone’s wife, and caused the death of the husband.  God dealt with him and God heard his prayer of repentance and he stands out as a success story – a man after Gods own heart.
Joseph’s brothers sold him to slavery, and in the prison after Potiphar’s wife falsely accused him of sexual harassment.  God was with him.  Joseph’s end is a marvelous story.  He rose to be a man who ruled over Egypt as the Prime Minister.  From a slave to a Prime Minister! Daniel, Shadreck, Mischeck and Abednigo were slaves in heathen lands but they became Governors in heathen lands, from bondage (slavery) to Governorship.  I don’t care how and why you have failed before.  I care about today and tomorrow and I say to you, God wants you to succeed.
I tell the truth in the name of Jesus Christ, failure is not for you.  Become a prayer addict, and don’t stop praying until success becomes your name.  The blessings (not failures or curses) of Abraham, and the promise of God (for success and promotions) are all yours for the grabbing and when you succeed you shame the devil, and you exalt God and glorify him and as a wonderful light to the world you show that Gods promises are true.
Stay Blessed.  Stay Prayerful.
